STANYS Professional Learning: Let's Explore Density

Have you ever wondered how to conduct a science lab in your kitchen that is normally done in a regular science classroom? Then this is the workshop for you. In the "Let's Explore Density" workshop, you will be using easily found materials in your home to conduct an investigation that explores the density of six different liquids. In addition, you will receive important background information on the topic of density and ways in which to extend the topic with older and younger students.
NOTE:
Here are a list of materials you may want to have available if you would like to do the demonstration together with Joan.
1. Shampoo. 2. Maple syrup or Honey. 3. Dishwashing liquid. 4. Water.
5. Milk. 6. Vegetable Oil. 7. Tall, clear container. 8. Measuring cup
