One Day Virtual Event - Storylining to Engage Students in the Three Dimensions

3-Dimensional Teaching and Learning requires a holistic approach when shifting to a classroom where students are figuring out over just learning about facts. Three-dimensional learning that incorporates the disciplinary core ideas, the science practices and the cross-cutting concepts is the driving force for improving the student learning experience in the 21st Century.

In order to better integrate the different topics typically taught in the high school classroom, storyline units that are coherent and phenomenon-driven have been created so that students can make sense of how science works in real world situations. Participants will hear more about this approach like that of the Illinois Biology Storylines to see how these coherent units engage students in the Three Dimensions. Regardless of your state or local standards, this is just plain better pedagogy for students learning science!

Dr. Crean will be co-presenting with his colleague Kristin Rademaker.
